I am Lisa. This is my story.

I did not really understand the German system. Bureaucracy, employment, health insurance, contracts, finding a flat, registering my address: I learned all of it the hard way, one office at a time.

Along the way I made mistakes. Some of them cost me time, energy, money and a lot of frustration. There were moments when I felt unprepared and alone in front of a system that seemed far more complicated than I had imagined.

Those mistakes taught me the most useful things I know: where to look for reliable information, which questions to ask, and what to check before making a decision.

Then I noticed something. The confusion I had experienced was not an Italian problem. People arriving from dozens of countries were stuck on exactly the same steps, in exactly the same order.

That is why Germania Facile exists. I wanted to build the resource I would have wanted on my first week here: clear, practical, human and easy to consult, written by someone who remembers what not knowing feels like.

I am not a lawyer, a tax adviser or an immigration consultant, and this site never pretends to be. I am a founder and an expat who turned her own learning curve into something useful for other people.

Moving to a new country is already a big challenge. Understanding how your new life works should not make it harder.

You do not need to understand everything at once. One step at a time is enough.
